Housing Overdose Prevention and Peer Services – Manager

With funding from Island Health, Peers Victoria operates three (3) HOPPS Teams in supportive housing locations. It is expected that the HOPPS Teams will continue to evolve given the need to engage in a continuous quality improvement process to ensure these services are provided in a way that minimizes harms related to substance use. As some Sites are temporary, the site assignments and hours of service may change in conversation with the funder, housing operator and other stakeholders. In addition, contract changes are anticipated for June 2025, as
such this is a temporary position until May 31st 2025 and will be dependent on funding and contract changes as of June 2025.

Night Outreach Worker – Casual Position

Reporting to the Manager of Programs, the Night Outreach Worker is skilled in harm reduction delivery models, familiar with local health and community social support services, and is knowledgeable about street-based sex work/trade. Night Outreach Workers work  collaboratively with team members to provide ethical, peer-based, responsive support that is informed by the needs of the participants.
Services are currently provided 4 hours an evening, 7 days a week, on stroll in our outreach vehicle.

Drop-in Program Facilitator – Casual Position

The Drop-in Program Facilitator – casual position works under the Manager of Programming and Counselling Services, alongside other team members and is skilled in providing harm reduction, group facilitation, workshop delivery and general support when needed. The Drop-in Facilitator must respond rapidly and sensitively to the needs of the participants who access the Peers Drop-In Centre. The Dropin Program Facilitator will work collaboratively with staff across Peers programming to deliver a continuum of ethical, peer-based, responsive supports informed by our service participants perspectives and preferences.

Positions will be located at Capital City Centre, House of Courage, and Spaken housing sites.

Island Health has provided funding for on-site health services at housing and shelter sites, including harm reduction and overdose  prevention, primary care, addictions medicine, and peer support services.

Drop in Program Lead and/or Night Outreach Program Lead

Peers Victoria is an innovative, multi-service, grassroots agency that has been working with, and for Victoria sex workers since 1995. Through direct service delivery and partnerships, Peers provides an array of outreach, harm reduction, group education and other support services. We maintain a welcoming and accessible service environment that promotes the empowerment of current and former sex workers. 

We currently have a Drop in Coordinator/Night Outreach Team lead position available, with hours ranging from 15-30 hrs/week, depending on the candidate’s availability, experience and capacity. Drop in Program Lead and/or Night Outreach Program Lead


QomQem Administrative Coordinator

QomQem Coastal Connections is a grassroots Indigenous-led outreach program that developed in partnership with Peers Victoria Resources Society. We offer harm reduction and health care services to Indigenous peoples who are unhoused, precariously housed, and who may be using substances and/or alcohol. As a team that celebrates diversity, we welcome our relatives and allies from diverse backgrounds, sexualities, genders, abilities, beliefs, and identities. This position is posted for 20 hours per week at $32 per hour. The position is funded until March 31, 2024 with the possibility of funding renewal. Funding for this position comes from Reaching Homes.
